ELMSFORD, NY (June 22, 2004) - Reveo announces that U.S. Patent No. 6,753,044 entitled "Coloring Media Having Improved Brightness and Color Characteristics" was issued on June 22, 2004. Congratulations to Drs. Faris and Le Li. This patent enhances Reveo's portfolio for CLC based coloring media. CLC, or cholesteric liquid crystals, are employed in a novel configuration to produce color images capturing the colorful aspects of nature in a faithful manner. In particular, drawbacks associated with non-symmetrical upper and lower surfaces of flakes, thereby requiring intensive alignment operations to produce bright and vivid images. In contrast, the present invention provides reflection characteristics of the upper and lower surfaces that are substantially identical.
